Dhoom 3 Movie Review :)

Dhoom 3 . The third installment of Dhoom Series . The Yash Raj films Rojgar Yojna Karyakram scheme developed for Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Kapoor .

Lots of expectations . whether it will cross chennai express collections or will it break all time records . I am into this conclusion that the collections of a film doesn't make it good or bad . The content is the only thing which makes  a film good .

Dhoom 3 starts with Amir (Sahir) as a child and his dad is apna jaggu dada aka Jackie Shroff . They have a circus company called The Great Indian Circus . Jaggu dies Amir cries and after that it's all inki pinki ponki ;) I am not telling you the story as it might turn into a spoiler . It will snatch whatever little bits of interesting things in the film when you watch .

I will tell you what worked for me .

1. Amir Khan
2. Amir Khan
3. Amir Khan
4. Amir Khan
5. Amir Khan
>..... Amir Khan

7. The graphics of the bike changing into a water bike and few more transformations of the bike here and there according to the scene .

8 . Interval Scene .

It's as simple as that . Let it be his dance , action sequence or his portrayal of his character . He impresses . If Amir wasn't there I wouldn't have even watched this film. That's a different story altogether

Now let me explain in detail what didn't work for me or for others also (I have seen people disappointed while leaving . )

1. The opening introduction of Amir Khan is not very spectacular but interesting . What would have made more engaging is if they had showed us how he robs the banks . All we are made to watch is how he runs after the robbery .

2. Then there is this spectacular introduction of Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan with a kollywood/tollywood/sandalwood mashup of action sequence .  You can see even a bit of bad boys 2 scene in this fight sequence . This is damn confusing whether they were making a spoof of tamil/telugu movie action sequences or where they seriously trying it out . It seems even the makers were not clear how to project it . It's damn hilarious as well as horrendous .

2a) These abhi and uday are shown as two cops from India who are flown to chicago to solve a robbery case just because the robber wrote something in Hindi . That's it ? That's the reason you fly down two cops from India  . Chicago police are dumb and they don't have a translator ?

3. Katrina Kaif Kapoor ? She is like a mere prop in this whole circus . she has three songs to dance , three scenes to act . That's it . She danced well in the Kamli song .

4. Talking about songs in point 3 . The songs are not upto the mark . No .. I said they are bad and they are bad .

5. The action sequence are a bit let down . Well I can digest the hero thumping down a baddie and the baddie bouncing off the ground like a wall but what I couldn't digest is Amir riding a bike on a rope during one of his escapades . Rope ? Seriously dude ? Then there is a train coming and if Amir doesn't go in time across the rope the train would hit him . Now I wonder how come the driver of the train doesn't even try to apply brakes . considering its in chicago and not India .  Amir is sensible and I somehow can't accept him doing all these .

6. There is a particular fight sequence which you must have watched in the trailers . Amir hitting Abhi baby with a rod while riding on a bike . in that fight sequence somehow Amir beats abhi to the ground and he almost comes to kill him but stops at the end . My reaction was like " Oh No , he should have killed . Now there will be Dhoom 4 under the Yashraj Rojgar Yojana scheme for Abhi baby and Uday Kapoor .

7 . The climax fight is stretched over too much . There is one particular sequence where cars bang in to each other and fly off to land with a bang . You can see very clearly the empty cars getting blasted . Too much of taking your audience for granted . Not one car , not two but all the cars are empty . could have done some additional vfx .

8. There is another scene where abhishek bachchan and amir become friends . they keep meeting at a theme park . This particular scene abhishek says something about katrina (alia is her name while uday chopra is ali .. what a coincidence i must say) . Amir gets angry and so does abhishek . so amir comes to make peace with him . I think this is also meant to be a spoof on article 377 . They were literally acting like two gays . (I have nothing against gays so don't file a defamation case on me) I am just saying  .

SPOILER AHEAD (Read at your own risk of destroying the only interesting suspense factor of this film )

9 . Amir plays Sahir and Samar . Yes you read it right . He plays duel roles and brothers . Now , Samar is little introvert and has a stammering problem . He is Super Smart but because he is the one who plans all the robberies . The world doesn't know that there are two amir khans . No body except both amirs know about this . So , when Abhi baby meets Samar and befriends him in order to bring him in to confess to the crimes , he tell Samar that Alia (Katrina) is attracted to Sahir . Now that should spark a doubt in Samar's brain considering he is super smart . That doesn't happen and he falls to the prey . come on .. it's not happening .

10 . The climax is very absurd and very big disappointment . Watch it to go through the disappointment .

Abhishek and Uday are real dummies in all terms and Amir Khan steals the show with whatever he does  .

If you are a real die hard fan of Amir , If you have nothing else to spend your money on , if you are brave enough to watch Abhishek and Uday kapoor together on screen on the same frame , if you are okay with copycat action sequences , if you have fought with your girlfriend/wife and wanna take revenge . ... Please book the tickets right now .. Book at Imax for 900 if the intensity of the revenge is high .

Singh Saab The Great Movie Review :)

"Bali hamesha bakre ki dijati hain , sher ki nahi" .. the moment i saw the trailer and heard this lines , I decided then and there itself that I am gonna watch this movie first day itself . I have grown watching Sunny deol's movies like Ghayal , Arjun , Damini and the yelling from the stomach film "Jeet" .. I was a fan of his macho fights and his angry dialogues by the time Jeet got released . There was no way that i was going to miss this film .

What happens if Mr. Arvind Kejrival turns into a singh and muscles a dhai kilo ka haath along with matching physique , fights with one particular land grabber ? Normally it's a political scenario but in this film Sunny deol portraying a similar role Singh Saab fights against Bhoodev Singh . Getting the connect ? well at least i happened to assume such . The reference to Mango People (or is it peepal?) .. "Aam jaisa kuch khatta kuch meetha .. peepal ke ups jo bhoot rehta hien na aise hi aadmi main bhi bhoot rehta hien " is the dialogue which we think will pave to a massive masala story . does it work ? lets see ..

The opening scene starts with a typical sunny deol film with a good masala fight where our sunny paji single handedly (with that dhai kilo ka heath) beats the rowdies to dust . He is a crusader against corruption and He is Singh Saab the great . I thought that's the title of this film but every supporting character calls him "Sing Saab the great" . At the end of the fight , as soon as Johnny lever (remember him right?) says to his fellow junior that "Ye dhai kilo ka haath nahi , balki dedhsau karod ki haath hien" referring to the population in india , you know that you are in for some big ground breaking , wall smashing , sky thundering fights . Amrita Rao (yes the same beautiful girl who debuted in "Ab ke bars" and last seen in "Jolly LLB " or "Sathyagraha" is the reporter of a channel called "Tej" . She is the story teller from the beginning of this film . So the story is a flash back told by Amrita . She tells us how she met Singh Saab and the director Anil Sharma reveals the plot . Singh saab is an ex collector , an ex khaidi and now a social crusader . Now , no one knows the real story of singh saab except amrita arora and johnny lever . He was a collector who hits head on with Bhoodev (guess guess who? ) and gets jailed for 15 years for getting implicated in bribery . before that he loses his wife played by Urvashi Rautela (hui maa ) . She dies because of someone from Bhoodev (okay I will tell you , its Prakash Raj) gang poisons Urvashi (i think her role name is Winni .. no no not winnie the pooh) before sleazing her oomph factor(s) on the male spectators in the theatre . Now the rest of the story is how the collector Mr. Karanjit Talwar aka Singh Saab who becomes a social crusader just to take badla against Bhoodev in badori village . So at one point we are confused whether its badlav or badla ?

The songs hit me as a surprise . Specially "Daru Band kal se kal se " and "Palang thod pan " are good along with the Title song . Sunny Deol dances better and there is a few guest dance steps by Dharam Paji and Bobby deol .

What worked for me is the opening fight scene where the rowdies are plunged to the ground like tennis ball , the hospital scene where sunny deol gets a slap back for the one which he planted on prakash raj a few scenes before , the fight scene where sunny pa ji with his don't know how many kilo hand unearths a tree branch which has climbed onto a wall (hand pump ka zamaana gaya pappe ) and the climax fight where sunny paji's both hands are stuck below a truck's wheel (left hand) and a pillar like thing (right hand) and prakash raj tries to stamp his turban . I knew for sure that sunny deol will lift the truck for sure to take the hell out of prakash raj , but i was wrong . He just uses all his force , tightens his grip and as i was not blinking at all just not to miss the superherodom ,  there he takes the hand right from below the trucks wheel putting the likes of arnold and sylvester to shame and bashes the villain .

I will also tell you why it worked for me because from the land where i come from (andhra and tamilnadu) i have two superstars in Balakrishna in Telugu Cinema (did you see the guy stopping the train with his finger on youtube ?) and Vijaykanth in Tamil Cinema (now you have to see lots of videos on youtube , one where the electricity gets the shock and another where the bullet bounces off his chest to kill the guy who shot it ) who does more mindless and senseless comedy in the name of action sequence . I was missing them in action for years and Now after seeing full on Masala action with little bit of novelty .. I must say I enjoyed this movie better than shakespeare suicidal Ram Leela .

Go and watch it just for fun .

Ram Leela Movie Review

Ram Leela stars Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone along with Supriya Pathak , Richa Chadda etc etc .

It's credited in the titles that it's based on Shakespeare's  Romeo & Juliet .
I haven't read romeo and juliet by Shakespeare and after watching this I don't want to read it anymore . How I wish Shakespeare hadn't written romeo & juliet at all .

I think there must be two reasons why Bhansali saab must have made this film .

1. He must have watched Ishaqzaade and thought what if Ishaqzaade's story is based in Gujarat and hence he made Ramleela .

2 . He hasn't watched Ishaqzaade at all hence made this mistake of penning Ram Leela .

The first half looks like a home made video of Ranveer Singh & Deepika's romance . The story (if at all there is a clear one) is of two people falling in love who belong to  two different groups who are at war every now and then . It is love at first sight and lip lock at first sight too . There is no emotional connection at all and it looks as if there love is lust based and heart isn't involved at all . Then you are made to sit across few more lip locks and songs every now and then and suddenly they must have realised that they should tell a story also and hence tried to sprinkle some kind of story in between . So it is a home made video of Ranveer singh and deepika with lots of songs , lip locks , gun shots and some story . How they fall in love .. get seperated and will they unite or not forms the crux of the story . Girls get to see good built physique of Ranveer and guys will also get to know the vital stats if deepika too (which is obviously false ) .

Technically its a brilliant film . Good camera work , back ground music and good music too . Few dialogues are witty but they cannot save this film . Supriya Pathak is good too but goes over board at times . Richa Chadda is good too . Priyanka chopra's special appearance in a song doesn't add up any spice to the film except that we get to see her trying to put the hooks on her blouse together . No oomph then too .

Sanjay leeela Bhansali has lost his midas touch I believe . If at all this film earns some money at the box office then it would be definitely because of gujratis . The film is colorfull but the story is faded .

Watch it only if you are on for some senseless confusing meaningless film .

Ram Leela - R.I.P Romeo & Juliet .

Krishh 3 Movie Review

There was lot of expectation from the Roshan Family as far as the krrish franchise is concerned and as it has released yesterday , let's see whether it has flared up the screens this Diwali .

As it's a super hero movie the story would be the same regular hero beating villain in the climax as he keeps foiling all his evil plans from the start of the movie .
Krishna aka Krrish does office jobs part time and works as a super hero full time . He has his dad Rohit (koyi mil gaya & krishh ) and Priyanka Chopra as his wife at home . He lives in Mumbai . In another part of the world (or near the Himalayas ?) lives Kaal the super villain played by oberoi jr . Kaal is paralysed below his neck except for his two fingers . One on each hand for your kind information . He has telekinesis powers and controls everything around him with the help of his two fingers . He needs a bone marrow to fix his abnormality and that bone marrow should match his dna . So he starts creating humans mixed with animal dna and calls them "Manvar" . Creativity at its best . Sorry just kidding . The rest of the story is all about how the super hero meets the super villain and how he wins ? I am not revealing the story as I am not interested in spoiling your plans if you are intending to watch krrish 3 .

Someone should tell this super hero that shaking his face is not emotion . Don't know it might be his strait but need to give variation . Hrithik has done a very good commendable job showing a lot of difference between Rohit and krishna . Rohit's tummy seems to be deliberate . Could have given a decent tummy to him . Priyanka Chopra's lips act better than her (again maybe I dislike her personally hence this indifference ) . Kangana Ranaut is good compared but again couldn't tolerate her diction .  Rajpal Yadav wasted . Vivek Oberoi is okay  but could have done better .

The Vfx is top notch though it will be very unfair to compare with Hollywood . So please don't do that . The flight rescue scene is very good . The scenes where Kangana transformation are superb . Specially the first scene where she takes form of tge doctor . Awesome . Rest of the super hero scenes are good too except that we have seen those in Hollywood movies years back . Could have been more creative with the super hero scenes . Songs are okay . Action sequences are extraordinary .

There are few things which could have been taken care . For ex . When krishh is saving the aeroplane he runs from buildings to buildings chasing the flight and uses a tower pole to swing himself towards the flight so that he can get on to that . I thought he can't fly but after rescuing while the children say bye he zooms of in the air and th rest of the film he flies very easily .
Vivek oberoi needn't wore that metal suit once he becomes normal . There is no need actually because he is not physically strong nor going to use his body to fight . It seems deliberate so that the scene in which he gets stuck to a magnet seem logic . Another thing is Hrithik saving a child when the buildings are falling . Could have kept a shot where the kid is removed from that place by someone .

Overall a time pass movie if you have nothing to pass time for . Can give it a shot for the effort taken but nothing to write home for .

Krissh 3 - Needs more power :)

Attharintiki Daaredi Review :)

Veedu aaradugula bullettu , veedu dhiryam visirina rockettu ... This is the introduction song of Attharintiki Daaredi and it suits not only for Pawan Kalyan but also to Trivikram Prasad too . Otherwise who would make a story based on family with Pawan Kalyan who has a mass stardom whose last release Gabbar Singh is a big masala film and is a huge block buster . It takes lots of confidence on his story which shows on the screen :)
The story is very simple . I will not dwell much into it but its a film that can be watched with your entire family .
Boman Irani is the grandfather and Mukesh Rishi plays the father role of Pawan Kalyan . Nadiya is the daughter of Boman Irani . Rao Ramesh is the husband and Samantha is her daughter . Nadiya and Boman are not on talking terms and one day Boman Irani asks Pawan whether he can bring Nadiya back . Thus the story starts and before you realize it's interval and before you could relish and you crave for more and more the film ends meaningfully leaving you teary jerked in the last 10 Minutes . Happy ending to all.
The director has clearly and cleverly utilized Pawan Kalyan knowing the likes of his fans . All fights are fantastic , specially the introduction fight . Might have got inspired from Sherlock Holmes fight . Whatever its interesting and enjoyable because of one and only Pawan . The songs are good , not like Gabbar Singh but . The editing is crisp with finesse . The film is filled with comedy and like all Trivikram films the dialogues are awesome . Meaningful dialogues . Brahmi enters only in the second half but M.S Narayana takes the credit .
There are very few scenes which I felt are unnecessary , like the baba scene and the tree scene where the leaves fall whenever Brahmi tells a lie . A direct lift from "Thousand Words " . There are few places where you will find them meaningless or little not explained properly leaving loose ends but the director has done it deliberately to explain them later . For example Samantha's sister getting kidnapped . You will understand what I am referring to once you watch the movie as I don't want to steal your thrill right from under your nose .
The film is 2 hr 44 minutes and trust me you will not find it lengthy at all . Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram garu rock again . Irrespective of the delays in the release and the recent pre release piracy controversy  this film is a blockbuster . Its all written over this film from the beginning that this film is made to become a blockbuster .

First Class

I was standing in the line at Bandra Station to renew my train pass yesterday night . I take a three month pass to avoid standing in the que every month . The line was quite big and by the time I was two guys behind from the ticket counter , I saw a guy cutting the line trying to take a pass . I mustered the courage while others kept looking and questioned the guy about cutting the line and asked him to come in line . I was taken back a bit when he replied " First Class Pass " . I was like so what ? Come in the line . He then showed me something written above his head which read " Q for First Class & ... "
and  then a two three sentences discussion happened and he left looking at me like a loser after what I told him .
Now the point is not whether the guy is right or I am wrong , the whole point is that this is Bullshit according to me . Bloody inequality . A person who has more money has a separate que and those who don't have much money (aam aadmi ? ) has to stand in a big line which can put the Anaconda to shame ? Why is the Government treating its own people like this ? This inequality is there in Temples like Tirupathi etc etc and in the Government run institutions like Railways too . What happened to our god damn commonsense ? Just because the Government says so , it doesn't mean that we need to follow it blindly just because it's convenient for us .. I think irrespective of who says it , you got to show that equality  .. I stood in the line along with others and got my pass . I don't know about others but somehow I can't stand in a different line because the government gave me the luxury ... :)

P.S. May be the Government must have thought that as there is not much big difference between the said First Class & Second Class compartments as they both are packed to full during peak hours , let the First Class passengers at the least have this privilege .. An Act of fooling people I must say :)

Thalaiva Movie Review !

THALAIVA TAMIL MOVIE REVIEW

Hahahaahhhaaahhhhaaaa... wait . please allow me to laugh at myself for opting to watch this movie first day first show . I deserve this lol .
Thalaiva means The Leader . How I wish they had atleast opted to remake the telugu movie Leader instead . I am not a Vijay fan nor the director Vijay has a good reputation of making good movies other than Deiva Tirumagal  but after watching Vijay in Tupakki I decided to watch it .. Somebody said it right "Assumption is the mother of all fuckups in life " .
The Film's first half belongs to and banks on Santhanam alone . Its pity to see a Vijay's film banking on a comedian . Sheer Pity :( There is just a 5 minute scene before the interval which is the only interesting part of the movie .
Vijay is Sathyaraj's son and he grows up in sidney . Sathyaraj is a do gooder don in mumbai dharavi area . Blame it on Maniratnam for Nayagan which is based on Dharavi that every film maker making a film on Tamilians settled in Mumbai takes this Dharavi as their main place for their stories . comeon guys it's not happening anymore . This movie could have very well been placed in chennai also . Dharavi doesn't add any weight to the story . So Vijay grows up in Australia without knowing anything about what his father is .. He never came to India it seems forget Mumbai . It's very weird that he never tries coming to India .
The Intro song of Vijay is the worst intro song ever made on any hero in Indian films . Even Power Star Srinivasan would have a better intro song compared . We don't know what he is studying in Australia but just because his father says that you should not accept defeat and you should win at any cost .. he wins the college dance competition . There is then this Amala Paul who falls in love with Vijay and they together win the dance competition . Wait ... Did I forget to mention that Amala Paul meets with an accident because of the Rival group just few days before the dance competition ? Well that's to prove that our Hero will over come all hurdles and just because his father said so he wins the competition . Wait.. Did I tell you that Vijay's dance team gets disqualified from the competition in the intial stages itself just because Vijay's father makes a phone call at sharp 12 noon to talk to his son .. I wouldn't carry my phone at all if i were dancing as one of the troup members , forget being the dance lead . Wait .. if it's 12 noon in India , it's somewhere 5 pm in sydney right ? well the director didn't even care to take care of things like this . So Vijay after getting disqualified , gets qualified again by dancing in front of the college and his video goes viral on youtube such that they whole of sydney notices him and fuck the rules , the management decides to take him in just because his video on youtube get some 3 lakh hits .
So the dance (read drama) goes on for half of the first half and somehow the lead pair fall in love and decide to meet satyaraj who is a big don in mumbai . Periya thala of komban villiage was better (read chennai express) . Thank god Santhanam was there or else I would have walked out even before the interval . Now Santhanam takes a backseat in the second half hence the second half is very boring . I think AL Vijay must be taking cocktails for his drinks hence this cocktail of Basha , Thalapathy , Nayagan & all the movies based on Mumbai Underworld . Now Satyaraj dies . So naturally Vijay becomes the Talavali .. sorry sorry Thalaiva for the masses . There is a song where he walks on the roads , roams around in cars .. shoots people blah blah blah .. this goes on till the climax and in the climax he kills the villain and becomes the undisputed Leader of Mumbai . I hope he stays on like that forever and no other director dares to take another movie on similar lines .
I will tell you another funny thing or rather say foolish thing in this movie . there is an another second heroine (dont know who and didnt even care to find out ) who develops a feeling or so towards Vijay  addresses Vijay as Vishnu Bhai ..  do they know what BHAI means ? Benc@#&* ...
I think this movie is not released in Tamil Nadu as someone has got a stay over the release . I hope they don't release this movie ever and the court bans this movie . It's a publicity gimmick which might get some moolah for the producers who has actually found out that this movie is very poor in content , poor in acting , poor in screenplay , pooor in music , poor in every department hence opted for this publicity gimmick .

Well If I have writted very weird or seem to have blabbered , then I am sorry it's not my fault . after effects of watching Thalaiva .

My Advice .. Spend those few hundreds on the best beer avaialable .. You will atleast enjoy those two hours ;)
Thalaiva ... Tevaya ?

My reaction after watching Thalaiva ..

Chennai Express Movie Review !

CHENNAI EXPRESS

There is this notion among south indians that this film has made fun of them and I am still against the Lungi Dance which is supposed to be a tribute to Shri . Rajinikanth . I was an ardent fan of Shahrukh Khan but the fan in me was dying a slow death from his past few movies and like Shahrukh wanted a Blockbuster very badly , I also wanted to see him in some good entertaining movies . I did'nt say meaningful . Please note that . I booked a seat in this train knowing that it's a Rohit Shetty Film , Shahrukh in a love story yet again , south indian accent battered more than halal ..

The film starts on a very slow note making you wonder whether it's really chennai express or some other movie as you expect flares from the word go because of the combo offer . The film picks pace after 5 or so minutes and it's express screenplay after that . Shahrukh is Rahul again and deepika padukone is Meenamma . The chemistry works wonderfully and its visible on screen . The story is nothing different . It's the same love story but the film will work for you solely because of Shahrukh Khan , Deepika Padukone , Songs , Screenplay and humour sprinkled every now and then so that the interest lingers on .
The story is predictable from very far , as far as from Rameshwaram itself . Talking about Rameshwaram , this is the main point of the movie . Shahrukh's grandfather dies and his last wish is that his ashes to be immersed in ganga and rameshwaram . So that's the reason why shahrukh lands up on chennai express , but the director never explains why the grandfather wishes his ashes to be immersed both in ganga and rameshwaram .. weird .
Shahrukh seems to have sleepwalked this role as he has played the same several times .. there are places where he has underplayed also . He has made fun of his own movie dilwale dulhania lejayange which is noteworthy . Deepika Padukone plays the role to the T . She has dubbed her own voice for the tamil dialogues also which is a good effort . Now coming to the accent .. I think it's been deliberate to add more fun to the movie and it's not intended to hurt anyone . Satyaraj in a forgettable debut in hindi  . He is okay for a father role and that too a don role . He can do better roles .
The second half is also good and has a good pace . There are few twists and turns in the tract but the train doesn't derail of the course . You get the entertainment . The songs are good so is the background music . We all know that it's a rohit shetty movie so we know that we gonna get good masala mad comedy . So don't crib about logic . I am asking you not to expect logic ,then it means there are few scenes sans logic  . Yeah but this movie is better compared to his other mad crap comedies .
The humour is dialouge based so you will definitely enjoy it . What I am happy about and a plus point for those who understand tamil and hindi is that there are few dialouges in tamil also . So I understood every line in the film . You will find it funny that Satyaraj tells a dialogue in tamil and then translates the same in hindi in the climax. I found it hilarious .
There is a particular scene where deepika padukone kicks shahrukh in the sleep . What you saw in the trailer is just a tip of an iceberg . The scene is complete hilarious and brought the roof down . Deepika excels shahrukh in this particular scene .
If you have watched telugu and tamil  movies , then you will realise that two scenes are copied from south .. one scene is lifted from Muthu - the letter scene where everyone reads thinking its for them only .. the second scene is from Okkadu .. the scene where shahrukh holds the knife to deepikas neck and escapes , pushing the villain to the dirt . Whoever the writers are , they are good at lifting scenes . If you sit and think you will realise that it's actually Okkadu Telugu movie remade into Hindi keeping the main theme of hero rescuing the heroine from the hands of villain accidentally and realising his love for her at the end of the movie , fights for her ..
The movie is definitely worth watching with your family as its a complete masala entertainer . This Eid belongs to Shahrukh Khan and will not be surprised if he targets Eid for his big releases for the next couple of years ....

All I would say is ...

Ticket Khareed Ke
bhait ja seat pe
nikal na jaye kahin CHENNAI EXPRESS..

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag Movie Review !

The National anthem started and we all stood up as it's the norm but then I didn't even have a wink of an idea that I would be standing again as the end credits start rolling naturally my senses taking over resulting in both hands clapping .. I was about to watch a biographical sports film for which I was eagerly waiting ever since I watched the first theatrical few months back . I was all excited and enthused .

We had seen films in the sports genre such as Lagaan & Chak De , both being commercial blockbusters .
Milkha Singh father's last sentence make the Tile of this film..
"Bhaag Milkha Bhaag "
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is definitely a blockbuster but not a bollywood commercial potboiler . We all knew that this is a story based on real life experiences , triumphs and turbulations that Milkha Singh has lived . We have heard about him as "Flying Sikh" .. now we will be seeing his struggles and how he overcame all those . Though its about Milkha Singh's life it's not completely based on his story but it seems the Director has added some flavour to it for making it a main stream cinema . We all know the story so I won't discuss it here , rather I would like to tell what worked and what didn't according to me .

Farhan Akhtar has done a flawless job which is visible on screen . He runs along as he carries the film entirely on his shoulders. The three other departments which support Mr. Rakesh Omprakash Mehra along with Farhan are the camera , music and art department .
Farhan's dedication is visible all through the film . His body language suits the character and you should look at the way he runs . Exactly like an athlete . He shows the stress , the tiredness , anger and frustration in the necessary levels unlike his other bollywood contemporaries . I am sure if it had been some other hero , they wouldn't have done justice to this role as much as Farhan does . They have given importance to minute details like his hair too. It's not styled at all , forget styling it seems they haven't touched his hair or groomed in few scenes where he is running . There is a shot in which he starts skipping and we are shown a normal untoned body of farhan and as the shot (round trolley) progresses we see the body turning into a toned muscular body with six pack (or it is 4) . It's defnitely not an CG shot . As I have heard about this shot , he had shot at regular intervals from untoned to toned while he was building his body and had been stiched in the VFX .  Awesome dedication . Three bows to Farhan and the team .
Divya Dutta in an another unforgettable role potraying farhan's elder sister . The scenes where farhan and divya dutta meet , specially after Farhan comes home with his long desired Indian Team blazer gives you a tear or two . Emotional bonding at its best . No big dialouges , just perfect potrayal of emotions . The father's character of Milkha Singh (Art Malik) is good and so is the boy who had potrayed Milkha Singh as a child . Read somewhere that he is the son of a tea vendor at of the shooting spots . Rakesh ji spotted him and found him fit for the character to the T . He had done lots of auditions prior to this and he didnt find anyone convincing . One more reason why this kid's name is not there in wikipedia or imdb . Pawan Malhotra and Prakash raj do justice to their roles while Prakash raj has done a very minor role unlike his other character or villain roles .
The story sometiemes moves at a normal pace but at very few places it falters giving you a feeling of boredom . You might get a yawn here or there . Sonam Kapoor has tried her best to pull the film down with all her might but couldn't succeed . There is a scene where Farhan runs with a Tire tied to his waist with all his might . . It's similar to the film also . Farhan pulls the film together with all his might . Kudos to the Director and Farhan to spun an interesting film with no commercial elements and no bollywood masala .
What didn't work for me is the order of the flashback scenes . It was little confusing for me to keep a track of what is following what . There is flashback in a flashback and it comes back to the first flashback and these kinda flashbacks follow quite in a flow giving a fear of getting confused . but thank god it doesn't make you lose the story that they were telling . so as far as the story was conveyed right , this didn't seem to be a big problem to me . The film is slow at places . Sonam kapoor is in an extended cameo . She is there for just 15 to 20 minutes . I don't know why they have told us that she is the heroine .
There are no goosebump generating shots or scenes but never the less its an outstanding movie told in a very realistic way with little cinematic approach . The film is paced at 3 hours 8 minutes and there is no way the director could have cut down on the scenes as each scene is important . ( I personally feel that Sonam Kapoor's episode could have been better ) . The color tone of the flashback scenes are apt . The sound department had done a neat job . The editing is marvellous .

All in all a complete film packed for family audiences . I think peope who were acting lazy with their body will hit the gym with a vengeance after watching this . Atleast I am going to do ;)
Dont think " Koi gal nahi , tv mein dekhanga " as it's gonna take a long while like a film like this to come on tv and aise films ko theatre mein dekhenge to hi mazaa hien .
Like farhan says .. Aahoo .. Bhaag .. apni nazdeeki cinema hall tak aur pakdo bhaag milkha bhaag ko ..
The Story had unfolded very beautifully & aesthetically :)

p.s It was very pleasing and blissful to watch our Team members Names in the end credits and was proud to see my name in it along with others (though I was a miniscule part ) . Great and Fantabulous work Pixion .. Like Always :)

Raanjhanaa Movie Review :)

As I was walking down the lanes , my heart was heavy and I was feeling gloomy and delightful at the same time ... I just finished watching "Ranjhanaa" .

It's very long since I have watched a good love story and I feel this is so damn close to being very good . When I am saying being close it doesn't mean in anyway that its not . South Indian movies and that too Tamil movies used to churn this kinda movies in the last decade . Unfortunately not now and with Ranjhanaa , bollywood might try remaking those ;)

Dhanush makes an impressive debut in bollywood (sans the diction ) with Ranjhanaa . He is like your next door boy because of which you might get connected to his character (atleast I could) . Dhanush knowing his strengths plays the emotional scenes to the T . No histrionics  . Sonam is impressive in bits though being a miscast . She looks like atleast 5 years elder to Dhanush in the film . She is bubbly while she is this school girl but at times she looks to old for that . Her transformation is not as visible as Dhanush's is . The guy who played dhanush's friend ( Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub ) is good and might go places and swara bhaskar gets an another meaty role after Listen Ameya and not so impressive role in Aurangazeb . Abhay deol is his usual best and rest pass the mutter . The girl who played his sister's role ( Shilpi Marwah)  is good .

The story is not your usual bollywood love story . A Hindu brahmin guy (Kundan) starts liking  a Muslim Girl (zoya)  when he is 5 years old . He enters adolescence and so does his puppy love . He proposes and after so much of trials turbulations and thappads (17 slaps precisely as told by the hero ) and one cut on the wrist , zoya reciprocates just to get apart , depart from Kashi to Aligar in the next scene . Kundan promises to wait for her and finally when she comes back she doesn't remember anything .Now that's not so welcome from the heroine as the hero had cut his wrist for her .. comeon you can't forget something like that in your life unless she is acting . Not revealing the story much , she tells kundan that she loves another guy and that guy is our deol da cousin puttar .. Abhay Deol . One stage both zoya and kundan or on the verge of getting married to their respective partners and bang .. Interval .

The first half an hour post interval will grab your heart with both the hands and will literally squeeze you . The story , the acting , music and everything at its best at this juncture particularly .

After that it is all about what happened next .. did sonam marry abhay deol ? What happened to Dhanush's marriage with Swara Bhaskar ? ( forgot to tell , she is dhanush's cousin )

The dialogues are witty and awesome . You must have seen one or two in the trailers but trust me there are lot more .
The music is okay . Not even one song is hummable don't know what's wrong with rehman ? Background score is good .
First half is good and entertaining . Second half is okay . Drags at places and the pre climax gives you a dejavu feel of Dilse but not exactly a copy .

What's undigestable is sonam being a muslim girl hugs Dhanush atleast thrice in front of her house without the fear of her conservative muslim parents . .

A love story ending with a political backdrop is not a welcome thing anytime in our Indian films . Dil se for example .
People who have been in love but not successful will see themselves on screen at times for the pain that the characters go through .

A definitely watch film for the love we all had in our yester years . Go with your loved ones , you will come out with more love and a tear may be .

This is not a perfect film . This is not your Aashiqui types . It has his ups and downs , some scenes are masala added but even after all this You will definitely fall in love with Dhanush for the love he shows and you will be awe with his expressions when his heart is broken . Dhanush might not have a career in bollywood but can expect remakes of his films in future . I loved the film because I am familiar with Dhanush in his tamil outings but can't say the same with bollywood fans .

Ab Launda yeha pe bhi nahi jeetega to kahan jeetega ;)

25 Things You Don't know about Me ;)

Well If I am telling you the 25 things that you don't know about me and if I still want things about me which you don't know then I have to develop 25 more things which you will not know till I don't tell you again.. confusing huh? Let's not get into that , hence let's see what are all those things which you don't know about me as of now ..

1. I am a very good at cooking anything vegetarian .. specially Sambhar , dhal and aloo fry .

2. I started my career as a Typist before working as an assistant editor for television serials down south in Chennai . I worked as an Editor for only one TV Serial called "Akka" which aired on Gemini Tv in the Year 2004 :)

3. I watch at least one movie in the theatre every week . I have to watch newly released movie on the first day itself  or else I would lose interest in that film .

4 . I am an emotional fool , though the fool part comes and goes often the emotional part still there with every breath of my heart . Though I got hurt and I get hurt because of this , Something down my heart tells that there is nothing bad being emotional .

5. Whatever I have achieved till now , I have achieved it on my own . What do you call hmmm .."Self Made" .. yeah  that's what I am .

6. I somehow always have this inclination towards reading books , though i buy a lot i hardly complete reading . I have this starting problem , but once i start i finish it.

7. One of the poem that I wrote was published in a book called " Under a quick silver moon" in the US of A way back in 1998 :) here is the link to that website http://www.poetry.com/claims/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&poet_keywords=Ramana+Sadhu&commit=+++Search+Poets+++

8. I am not very good at planning my life but i plan my day and if someone or something cause a change in my plan then I am super pissed .

9. I like to be punctual and expect the same from others . I hate people who are not punctual or who don't give respect for other people's time .  I don't have respect for them .. simple .

10 . If fate had different plans , I would have assisted Mr. Rajiv Menon a decade back .

 11. I am an Agnostic .. one who is confused whether god is there or not . I also believe in Karma and hence I don't give it back to those who deserve it .

12 . If after working round the clock , you give me an option between a water bed to sleep and one good movie ticket .. I would opt for a movie ;) that gives me the needed relaxation than a sleep .

13 . I just can't stand people who smell bad , who are dumb and at the same time try to act smart & those who don't do their given job .. I hate people who have plastic smile ..

14 .  I can't take quick decisions for very small things like how to travel to office or which cinema hall and which show should i watch etc etc... I don't like this quality of mine though ,  Big things I decide just like that .
15 . There were lot of times where I had prepared for the wrong subject during examination and still passed

16 . I spoke to Rajinikanth on phone for his birthday when I was ten years old .

17 . I almost got into trouble with police only once in my life . Almost stood staring eye to eye with the inspector across his table arguing , he didn't see my legs shaking beneath the table though ;)

18 . I am not good at keeping friends or friendship . You ask me today and I have only very few good friends on whom I can really count upon and for whom I will go to any length in life :)

19 . I will achieve what I want to .. I am the one who would try try and try till I succeed . Never say die is my attitude and I do it with patience . I believe that if you aim at the moon with firm belief , one day you will land up on the moon . You should not just give up . What's rightfully yours will be yours :)

20 . If I give you my word , come what might I will stick to it . The problem is just that unless you don't deserve it I wouldn't be giving you my word .

21 . I learnt car driving only after buying one . Classic case scenarios which can add up to another blog post :)

22 . I am such a big fan of Rajinikanth that when telling my name in the newly joined school for 2nd Std I told my name as Rajinikanth as there was an another girl who introduced herself as rajini . Bingo !

23 . I am a lefty turned righty . Maybe that's why I get confused when telling directions . Most of the time I would ask the autowallah to turn to the right when I had to say left and vice versa if you ask me suddenly to turn right I would turn to left . I don't know which side of my brain works better though ;)

24 . I am very good at story telling which was best utilised at avm studios to translate hindi film stories to tamil . I am good at translating from hindi tamil & telugu to any of the said languages .

25 . I somehow feel that Cats are the only selfish creatures in this world next to human beings ..

Next I might come up with 25 things you should know about me .. Beware ;)

Fast & Furious 6 :)

Dominic Toretto: You've got the best crew in the world standing right in front of you, give them a reason to stay.

When Vin Diesel says this at the beginning of the film , you know for sure that you will get what you have come for .. Action and only Action .

Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto , Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs , Paul Walker as Brian O'Conner , Michelle Rodriguez as Letty and Luke Evans as Shaw engage you from start to end with loads of Action and little bit of humor here and there sprinkled to make your joy ride enjoyable .

Vin Diesel and his crew are settled after their last heist in Rio which earned them $100 Million but If you are making an installment you got to come up with a good story to continue the series . So you have got Luke Evans as Owne Shaw former British Special Forces soldier destructing a Russian military convoy . Enters Dwayne Johnson as Diplomatic Security Services agent Luke Hobbs and his partner Riley to investigate . They somehow believe in believing that Owen Shaw and his crew are responsible. Hobbs tracks down Dominic and requests his help in bringing Shaw down . Now how will you convince the hero who has settled down to come back and help in tracing the villain .. You show him the photo of his ex-girlfriend Letty whom we (including Vin Diesel ) assume to have been dead in one of the previous installments . Now we all know for sure Fast & Furious is not only about cars but also about being a Family .. so before we could even conceptualize about what's gonna happen , we have the hero and his crew who are in different parts of the world join back to do what's necessary for the story .

Saying that , the story seems to be nothing new but we get what we went for.. Action and Pure Action . Right from the first scene till the end you will find car chases , fights , action sequences every fifteen minutes . The first car chase between Vin Diesel and Paul Walker is just a piece of cake that you are gonna have it full in the next few minutes . The car chase in london in particular and the pre climax chase is awesome . The climax is good too but it's little bit unbelievable but this being an full and full Action Film you can't expect logic and story here . So pass it on .. if you don't give a big deal to little bit errors here and there and if you can accept some logic defying stunts (which you are used to watching latest bollywood and kollywood tollywood movies , also read Akshay Kumar ;) ) you will love this movie and worth every rupee you spent buying the ticket .

Whats Hot in the movie are the thrilling stunt and car chases , Vin Diesel with his macho cool act (man you should see when he is expressing his anger through his eyes in the pre-climax scen) and Dwayne Johnson takes a little back seat with doing only a little bit of Stunt .. Luke Evans tries to be that cold blooded villain but somehow is not convincing .

Don't watch out for the one or two senti scenes . For ex: vin diesel tries his best to get back the memory of Michelle by enacting a similar car chase .. Why does Dwayne Johnson goes only with his partner everywhere tracking the villain.. why not extra force ?? Lots of similar silly questions might pop up here and there but give it a miss or ignore the thoughts the second they crop up or else you will miss enjoying the action .

Because it's made in Hollywood the stunts are awesome and makes it watchable twice only for the action .. if it were been made in India Akshay Kumar and Arjun Rampal would have tore the film into pieces before you could tear them apart ..

P.S Watch out after post credits scene .. you are in for a surpriseeeeeee ;)

Watch it as soon as possible and Watch it with your Family .. Worth a double watch :)

Aurangazeb !

Aurangazeb - There is a saying that too many cooks spoil the dish and in the case of Aurangazeb too many characters spoiled this film . It was more of a documentary on Gurgaon Real Estate than Aurangazeb . The plot had lot to offer but the director seems to have taken the unorthodox way to present this film and that spoiled the entire fun that this film had to offer .

Arjun Kapoor in a double role is good and promising . He had shown the difference between the two characters and this being his second film , his act is praise worthy .

saying that , his Ajay character is a continuous act of his Ishaqzaade Parmar and we liked his show in ishaqzaade and so we continue to love his character in aurangazeb also . If Arjun Kapoor's portrayal of Ajay is menacing , the one who steal the show are Prithviraj Sukumaaran and Rishi Kapoor , right in that order . All other characters do their part well and sashaa agha is a big let down and swara bhaskar is completely wasted in a very tiny unimportant role . Amrita Singh is okay and rest pass the buck .
Not to forget Anupam Kher whose role is very important to the story but he comes in just one scene . did he just chose to act similar to that of Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Maara ?

The Story is very simple and that's why I think the screenplay must have been very good . Two familes , one gurgaon .. who will rule the roost ? it's as simple as that . so what will you do when you have such a simple story thread.. you put in lots of characters , make the hero act in a double role , add some father-son , father-second family , mother-son , hero - vamp turned heroine sentiments into it.. first half makes you understand the real meaning of Yawns , the second half is interesting in bits and pieces .. a dialogue here and there brings you back out of your sleep .. in the end you would be wondering who is Aurangazeb in this film ? Arjun Kapoor ? Rishi kapoor ? or Prithviraj ?

The title must have been "Who is Aurangazeb"? or "Aurangazeb Kaun'? or "Pehchaan Kaun"

I am not that good at ratings so I leave it to you .. today being monday the ticket rates must be less ..so all the couples who want some lonely time , all who wanna sleep in AC Theatres can go and watch this.. rest can wait for a month to see it on colors . watch it with advertisements to avoid the feeling of running away from your home or break the television .

AURANGAZEB - BERANGAZEB
