Singh Saab The Great Movie Review :)

"Bali hamesha bakre ki dijati hain , sher ki nahi" .. the moment i saw the trailer and heard this lines , I decided then and there itself that I am gonna watch this movie first day itself . I have grown watching Sunny deol's movies like Ghayal , Arjun , Damini and the yelling from the stomach film "Jeet" .. I was a fan of his macho fights and his angry dialogues by the time Jeet got released . There was no way that i was going to miss this film .

What happens if Mr. Arvind Kejrival turns into a singh and muscles a dhai kilo ka haath along with matching physique , fights with one particular land grabber ? Normally it's a political scenario but in this film Sunny deol portraying a similar role Singh Saab fights against Bhoodev Singh . Getting the connect ? well at least i happened to assume such . The reference to Mango People (or is it peepal?) .. "Aam jaisa kuch khatta kuch meetha .. peepal ke ups jo bhoot rehta hien na aise hi aadmi main bhi bhoot rehta hien " is the dialogue which we think will pave to a massive masala story . does it work ? lets see ..

The opening scene starts with a typical sunny deol film with a good masala fight where our sunny paji single handedly (with that dhai kilo ka heath) beats the rowdies to dust . He is a crusader against corruption and He is Singh Saab the great . I thought that's the title of this film but every supporting character calls him "Sing Saab the great" . At the end of the fight , as soon as Johnny lever (remember him right?) says to his fellow junior that "Ye dhai kilo ka haath nahi , balki dedhsau karod ki haath hien" referring to the population in india , you know that you are in for some big ground breaking , wall smashing , sky thundering fights . Amrita Rao (yes the same beautiful girl who debuted in "Ab ke bars" and last seen in "Jolly LLB " or "Sathyagraha" is the reporter of a channel called "Tej" . She is the story teller from the beginning of this film . So the story is a flash back told by Amrita . She tells us how she met Singh Saab and the director Anil Sharma reveals the plot . Singh saab is an ex collector , an ex khaidi and now a social crusader . Now , no one knows the real story of singh saab except amrita arora and johnny lever . He was a collector who hits head on with Bhoodev (guess guess who? ) and gets jailed for 15 years for getting implicated in bribery . before that he loses his wife played by Urvashi Rautela (hui maa ) . She dies because of someone from Bhoodev (okay I will tell you , its Prakash Raj) gang poisons Urvashi (i think her role name is Winni .. no no not winnie the pooh) before sleazing her oomph factor(s) on the male spectators in the theatre . Now the rest of the story is how the collector Mr. Karanjit Talwar aka Singh Saab who becomes a social crusader just to take badla against Bhoodev in badori village . So at one point we are confused whether its badlav or badla ?

The songs hit me as a surprise . Specially "Daru Band kal se kal se " and "Palang thod pan " are good along with the Title song . Sunny Deol dances better and there is a few guest dance steps by Dharam Paji and Bobby deol .

What worked for me is the opening fight scene where the rowdies are plunged to the ground like tennis ball , the hospital scene where sunny deol gets a slap back for the one which he planted on prakash raj a few scenes before , the fight scene where sunny pa ji with his don't know how many kilo hand unearths a tree branch which has climbed onto a wall (hand pump ka zamaana gaya pappe ) and the climax fight where sunny paji's both hands are stuck below a truck's wheel (left hand) and a pillar like thing (right hand) and prakash raj tries to stamp his turban . I knew for sure that sunny deol will lift the truck for sure to take the hell out of prakash raj , but i was wrong . He just uses all his force , tightens his grip and as i was not blinking at all just not to miss the superherodom ,  there he takes the hand right from below the trucks wheel putting the likes of arnold and sylvester to shame and bashes the villain .

I will also tell you why it worked for me because from the land where i come from (andhra and tamilnadu) i have two superstars in Balakrishna in Telugu Cinema (did you see the guy stopping the train with his finger on youtube ?) and Vijaykanth in Tamil Cinema (now you have to see lots of videos on youtube , one where the electricity gets the shock and another where the bullet bounces off his chest to kill the guy who shot it ) who does more mindless and senseless comedy in the name of action sequence . I was missing them in action for years and Now after seeing full on Masala action with little bit of novelty .. I must say I enjoyed this movie better than shakespeare suicidal Ram Leela .

Go and watch it just for fun .

Ram Leela Movie Review

Ram Leela stars Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone along with Supriya Pathak , Richa Chadda etc etc .

It's credited in the titles that it's based on Shakespeare's  Romeo & Juliet .
I haven't read romeo and juliet by Shakespeare and after watching this I don't want to read it anymore . How I wish Shakespeare hadn't written romeo & juliet at all .

I think there must be two reasons why Bhansali saab must have made this film .

1. He must have watched Ishaqzaade and thought what if Ishaqzaade's story is based in Gujarat and hence he made Ramleela .

2 . He hasn't watched Ishaqzaade at all hence made this mistake of penning Ram Leela .

The first half looks like a home made video of Ranveer Singh & Deepika's romance . The story (if at all there is a clear one) is of two people falling in love who belong to  two different groups who are at war every now and then . It is love at first sight and lip lock at first sight too . There is no emotional connection at all and it looks as if there love is lust based and heart isn't involved at all . Then you are made to sit across few more lip locks and songs every now and then and suddenly they must have realised that they should tell a story also and hence tried to sprinkle some kind of story in between . So it is a home made video of Ranveer singh and deepika with lots of songs , lip locks , gun shots and some story . How they fall in love .. get seperated and will they unite or not forms the crux of the story . Girls get to see good built physique of Ranveer and guys will also get to know the vital stats if deepika too (which is obviously false ) .

Technically its a brilliant film . Good camera work , back ground music and good music too . Few dialogues are witty but they cannot save this film . Supriya Pathak is good too but goes over board at times . Richa Chadda is good too . Priyanka chopra's special appearance in a song doesn't add up any spice to the film except that we get to see her trying to put the hooks on her blouse together . No oomph then too .

Sanjay leeela Bhansali has lost his midas touch I believe . If at all this film earns some money at the box office then it would be definitely because of gujratis . The film is colorfull but the story is faded .

Watch it only if you are on for some senseless confusing meaningless film .

Krishh 3 Movie Review

There was lot of expectation from the Roshan Family as far as the krrish franchise is concerned and as it has released yesterday , let's see whether it has flared up the screens this Diwali .

As it's a super hero movie the story would be the same regular hero beating villain in the climax as he keeps foiling all his evil plans from the start of the movie .
Krishna aka Krrish does office jobs part time and works as a super hero full time . He has his dad Rohit (koyi mil gaya & krishh ) and Priyanka Chopra as his wife at home . He lives in Mumbai . In another part of the world (or near the Himalayas ?) lives Kaal the super villain played by oberoi jr . Kaal is paralysed below his neck except for his two fingers . One on each hand for your kind information . He has telekinesis powers and controls everything around him with the help of his two fingers . He needs a bone marrow to fix his abnormality and that bone marrow should match his dna . So he starts creating humans mixed with animal dna and calls them "Manvar" . Creativity at its best . Sorry just kidding . The rest of the story is all about how the super hero meets the super villain and how he wins ? I am not revealing the story as I am not interested in spoiling your plans if you are intending to watch krrish 3 .

Someone should tell this super hero that shaking his face is not emotion . Don't know it might be his strait but need to give variation . Hrithik has done a very good commendable job showing a lot of difference between Rohit and krishna . Rohit's tummy seems to be deliberate . Could have given a decent tummy to him . Priyanka Chopra's lips act better than her (again maybe I dislike her personally hence this indifference ) . Kangana Ranaut is good compared but again couldn't tolerate her diction .  Rajpal Yadav wasted . Vivek Oberoi is okay  but could have done better .

The Vfx is top notch though it will be very unfair to compare with Hollywood . So please don't do that . The flight rescue scene is very good . The scenes where Kangana transformation are superb . Specially the first scene where she takes form of tge doctor . Awesome . Rest of the super hero scenes are good too except that we have seen those in Hollywood movies years back . Could have been more creative with the super hero scenes . Songs are okay . Action sequences are extraordinary .

There are few things which could have been taken care . For ex . When krishh is saving the aeroplane he runs from buildings to buildings chasing the flight and uses a tower pole to swing himself towards the flight so that he can get on to that . I thought he can't fly but after rescuing while the children say bye he zooms of in the air and th rest of the film he flies very easily .
Vivek oberoi needn't wore that metal suit once he becomes normal . There is no need actually because he is not physically strong nor going to use his body to fight . It seems deliberate so that the scene in which he gets stuck to a magnet seem logic . Another thing is Hrithik saving a child when the buildings are falling . Could have kept a shot where the kid is removed from that place by someone .

Overall a time pass movie if you have nothing to pass time for . Can give it a shot for the effort taken but nothing to write home for .

Krissh 3 - Needs more power :)
